Construction of pavement and landscaping of commercial district of Aristotelous str. in Thessaloniki
CULTURAL CAPITAL OF EUROPE “THESSALONIKI ’97”

The landscaping of Aristotelous str. took place on a 17000m² of public space between Mitropoleos str. and Egnatia str. (arcades, pavements, road surfaces and plantings). The project included the removal and replacement of asphalt pavements, the infrastructure and flooring of all pavement surfaces, the construction and flooring of passages for vehicles, the extensive improvement on parts of pavements, the infrastructure for the street lighting and drainage and the installation of street furniture with marble and wooden public seats, marble and cast iron vehicle obstacles, road signs, waste compressors platforms, cast iron grids for trees etc.

By completion of the project, Thessaloniki’s main vertical axis significantly improved in terms of aesthetic as well as market upgrading. Today, Aristotelous is the backbone of the pedestrian network of the city center.
