Restoration of preserved traditional building at 36 Stratou Avenue, Thessaloniki

The goal of the project was the restoration and renovation of the two-storey traditional building located at Stratou Avenue, including a two-storey extension at the backside. The outline of the building and the fencing, as well as all the remarkable interior and exterior architectural elements have been restored and preserved. The extension has been made of a metal bearing structure and concrete slabs with brick-walls. Reinforcement of the building´s load-bearing structure (foundations and masonry), was carried out through the use of the sophisticated construction techniques of injected concrete mantles using shear pins, S500s and through application of shotcrete (gunite) and resin and concrete grouting.
