After the upgrade of Langada str. from the Inner Ring Road of Thessaloniki until K4 junction, arose the need for the construction of 2 bridges for pedestrians. The first pedestrian bridge was constructed near the junction of Thermaikos str. and Langada str, while the second one was erected near Oraiokastrou junction.
The two bridges have similar characteristics. Their span is approximately 45.00m, their width 4.50m and they rise up to 6.50m from ground level. The columns are of reinforced concrete C20/25, connected to a foundation consisting of three pillars with diameter of 80cm. The girder is arched; the arches consist of closed welded sections and the decks consist of IPE beams articulated connected to the arches’ tractors. The floor is concrete C30/37 on trapezoid metal sheets that are connected to the ΙΡΕ beams.
Access to the bridges is provided via steel staircases as well as elevators for disabled.
