The Hotel Complex ‘XENIA’ in Volos was refurbished and ungraded into a 5-star luxurious hotel. It reopened in June 2006 after the completion of the ambitious project of total reconstruction which was finished only in 10 months.

The substantial upgrading of the hotel and its services transformed it into a modern, 5-star city and conventions resort. Its prominent position next to the sea and in the base of the Centaurs’ mountain makes it a great choice for every visitor of the city of Volos and a starting point for excursions to the beautiful islands of Sporades or the picturesque villages of Pelion. Particular care was given to the functionality of the rooms and suites which were refurbished with the latest technical and technological interventions and with high-quality materials and distinctive decoration which create a stylish, relaxing environment.

The resort’s building surface is 7398m² and includes 79 luxurious and fully equipped rooms (one bed rooms, twin bed rooms, suites), rooms for disabled people, 4 multi-use halls, bar restaurant, out-door pool, pool bar, coffee corner, yacht club-roof garden, a la carte restaurant with open kitchen, hairdresser’s, ski storage area, TV room and modern spa and fitness center with indoor pool (ELXIS SPA). The surrounding area, with a surface of 9294m² has an outdoor parking with 160 spots combined with large green areas, a swimming pool of Olympic dimensions, playground and reception areas.

The works carried out included structural reinforcement of the existing building with mantels in columns and beams, extensive application of shotcrete in almost the whole existing structure and special strengthening of the building’s foundations. The new renovated 5-star hotel was also earthquake shielded, functionally and aesthetically upgraded with architectural interventions.
